An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Head of People & Culture to join our leadership team. This is a senior management position responsible for leading the company’s human resources, workplace health & safety, compliance, and people strategy across multiple business divisions and operational environments.

This role is suited to a highly experienced HR and WHS professional who can operate both strategically and operationally, providing leadership, guidance, and accountability while partnering closely with executive leadership, operational managers, and employees across the business.

About the Role

As the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for leading and driving all areas of human resources, workplace health & safety, workforce compliance, employee engagement, performance management, and organisational culture.

You will play a critical role in supporting business growth, strengthening leadership capability, improving workforce performance, and ensuring compliance with legislative and client requirements across engineering, manufacturing, construction, industrial, and field-based operations.

Key Responsibilities

People & Culture Leadership

Lead the company’s People & Culture function across all business divisions

Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives

Drive a positive, accountable, and high-performing workplace culture

Partner with leadership teams on workforce planning and organisational development

Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management, and workplace matters

Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning initiatives

Support leadership capability and employee development programs

Workplace Health, Safety & Compliance

Oversee workplace health & safety systems, policies, and compliance frameworks

Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, and client requirements

Lead safety initiatives, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement activities

Monitor workforce compliance, training, and competency requirements

Support operational leaders in maintaining strong safety performance and culture

Manage incident reporting, corrective actions, and risk mitigation strategies

Workforce & Business Support

Oversee HR administration, workforce documentation, and compliance processes

Support workforce mobilisation and project compliance requirements

Drive employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives

Monitor and report on HR and WHS performance metrics

Contribute to broader business improvement and leadership initiatives

What You’ll Bring

Extensive experience in a senior HR, People & Culture, or workforce leadership role

Demonstrated experience managing Workplace Health & Safety functions and compliance obligations

Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and WHS legislation

Proven ability to influence leaders and operational teams across multiple business areas

Experience within industrial, engineering, construction, manufacturing, mining, labour hire, oil & gas, or project-based industries highly regarded

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capability

Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and conflict resolution skills

Ability to operate in a fast-paced and evolving environment

Qualifications

Qualification in Human Resources, Business, Workplace Health & Safety, or related discipline

WHS qualifications and credentials essential

Lead Auditor and/or ICAM qualifications highly regarded

Current Driver’s Licence
